long story: For awhile I’ve wanted to migrate my website and blog together…to make it easier for you to view and navigate and easier for me to manage.  I also wanted it to look pretty!  So, I did hours of research and reading.  I learned about web hosts, EPP codes, pointing a name server, coding, DNS, etc.  I can tell you that it’s not easy.  i want to be a photographer, not a web designer!

That said, I’m hoping to have my brand-spankin new web site and blog up in the very near future.  So, don’t leave me!  Stay tuned!!

I’d never ever trade in my Nikon DSLR [well, maybe for an upgrade!], but I do really enjoy using vintage film cameras at times.

In these images I was letting the kids play with the camera [no film].

It was actually a pretty chilly day [if I remember correctly, I believe the wind chill was under 35 degrees and, man, was it windy!].  The clouds were on our side though as they kept moving and blocked the sun at the perfect times.

Poor [L], we would shoot some photos, and then wrap him up in his winter coat so he would warm up a bit before moving to another spot.  At one point we even took a “car break” and cranked up the heat!

Anthony also told me that [L] would probably be the “easiest” one year old to photograph…he wasn’t far from the truth!  [L] smiled at everything…even though his teeth were chattering by the end.  Such a good sport.

What a wonderful family.  Thanks, Anthony and Kelly, for letting me share in your excitement for an afternoon – it was a pleasure!

A logo is a very important part of branding.  I have to love my logo/branding since I’ll be staring at it constantly for a long, long time.

Well, I love it! It’s professional, yet casual. It’s fun. It’s fresh. And it’s all MINE!  Thanks so much, Kelly!

The kids were so excited to get our tree and decorate it this year.  In fact, Merrymead wasn’t even open yet to sell trees, but they opened for us…the first Christmas tree buyers of the season!  Funny thing is, Brent saw this one particular tree as we drove into the parking lot – he said that was the tree.  Sure enough, it ended up on the roof of our car.

We got home, and as is our yearly tradition, we chop off part of the tree, because [shocking] it is too tall.  Which, I remind them, happens every SINGLE year. [I even have the tip-of-the-tree scratch marks on my ceiling to prove it]

The kids do all of the tree decorating.  There is no need for me to “re-arrange” the ornaments anymore.  They are mostly taller than me anyway, so they can make it to the top.

As I was finishing P90X in my living room, I noticed a few ornaments that I take for granted…they are handmade, hand-sprinkled popsicle stick stars with beautiful pictures inside.  The pictures are little children who stole my heart and taught me many things about life.  They taught me selflessness and responsibility.  They helped me to grow up but still have fun.  I learned the true meaning of unconditional love and the overwhelming emotions that go with it.

Yes, time flies.  I thought just yesterday there were three little people were climbing into our bed WAY too early on a Saturday morning.  Maybe I’m extra emotional about it since my daughter is now researching colleges, my middle son is 6 months from driving, and my youngest son is on the brink of High School.

Wait…I blinked and now you are big.

I am SO proud of each of our kids.  They are strong and unique in their own personal way.  I love them more than I thought I could.  Lord, please don’t let me mess them up.  Please protect them from my inadequacies.  Please fill in all the gaps that I have unintentionally left.  I love them.  I really, really love them.
