When I first talked to Anthony, he told me that he and his wife wanted a portrait taken of their soon-to-be one year old. He said that they preferred a natural setting instead of a studio. So, at their suggestion, we met at the beautiful Graeme Park in Horsham, PA. I’ve never been there before…WOW, it was beautiful! Shimmering pond, original stone mansion, nineteenth-centry barn, beautiful blue doors, and the grass was still green!
It was actually a pretty chilly day [if I remember correctly, I believe the wind chill was under 35 degrees and, man, was it windy!]. The clouds were on our side though as they kept moving and blocked the sun at the perfect times.
Poor [L], we would shoot some photos, and then wrap him up in his winter coat so he would warm up a bit before moving to another spot. At one point we even took a “car break” and cranked up the heat!
Anthony also told me that [L] would probably be the “easiest” one year old to photograph…he wasn’t far from the truth! [L] smiled at everything…even though his teeth were chattering by the end. Such a good sport.
What a wonderful family. Thanks, Anthony and Kelly, for letting me share in your excitement for an afternoon – it was a pleasure!
